HOPI BEST DRIVER 2021 – Regional round SLOVAKIA

The third Saturday of June we dedicated to our colleagues - drivers. Them thanks to which the goods from our warehouses get to the food shelves in your city or village.

We diversified this hot day by cooking goulash, good music and refreshing draft non-alcoholic beer. In addition, we have not forgotten about the competition disciplines as well. A theoretical test focused on technical knowledge of vehicles and a second test focused on first aid. Subsequently, each competitor sat behind the steering wheel of a truck or solo vehicle (according to the competition category) and completed the competition in the presence of a judge. The ride had a precisely marked 20km long route and led through villages and the highway too. During the ride, the judge monitored the observance of the competitors' safety rules, the observance of traffic regulations and the average speed as well as the consumption of the vehicle were assessed.

The regional round of the competition was attended by 12 registered colleagues in 2 categories - Solo vehicles and trucks.

From the solo vehicle category, both colleagues Lukáš Bučka and Oliver Mikulička are advancing to the finale.

In the category of trucks, 10 colleagues measured their strength and the results were very tight. Andrej Rusnák advances from the fourth place to the finale, with a gain of 52 points and the best score in average consumption among all competitors. Lukáš Blaško took the third place with 60 points. Based on the mentioned tight results, we withdrew from the second place. "Our twins" - the Blšták brothers together took first place in the competition. Both Matúš and Marcel scored 62 points each.

Many thanks to all colleagues who decided to spend this sunny day with us for participating in the event. We warmly congratulate the advancing colleagues on their victory and advance to the international finale, which will take place in September 2021 in Jažlovice. Here will our drivers compete with colleagues from the Czech Republic and Hungary.
